SEATTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

It was 6 years ago when Ken and Stephanie met at work.  Ken isn’t really the player type…he is more the honest, straight forward kinda guy.  Stephanie, drawn to the straight forward kind of ‘mystery man’…was intrigued by Ken.  It didn’t take long till they were inseparable and started a family…adopting their loveable goldendoodle, Banjo!

After Ken proposed Stephanie knew she wanted a small wedding in Maui.  They love Maui and vacation there a lot as a family.  SOOOO why not!?  And why would I not agree to photograph them there.  I mean a wonderful, fun-loving family, on a tropical island, in a small intimate setting…YES PLEASE!

They settled on a new venue at Olowalu Plantation House. Although the weather graced us with more of a tropical storm feel, we managed to dodge the rain until the reception and enjoy the sexy wind blown look.  With multiple whale sightings going on, which is one of Stephanies’ favorite excursions to go on while in Maui, it seemed very symbolic of them to put on quite a performance during their ceremony.  You would think we paid for a show by the way they were showing off.  Whales are associated with compassion and solitude and I would definitely say this couple emulates those qualities.

It was a laid back day.  The ceremony was performed by their good friend Bert.  Both of their moms were their attendants and the remaining family and friends surrounded them to show their love and support.  Their guestbook was a wooden surfboard and of course the specialty drink (well one of them) was a Mai Tai.  Although it was an overcast day, we were blessed with a gorgeous pink and purple sunset.  The one thing Stephanie had requested and so Ken made sure to make it happen!!

They ended the night with hilarious and endearing speeches, a fire dancer and rather than a bouquet toss, it was more of a bouquet hand off to Stephanies sister, Emily who is getting married in May.

These two have the most incredible families.  They love with full hearts and so openly.  You could tell by the efforts their friends made to join them in Hawaii that everyone there was more than friends, they were all family!

Stephanie and Ken… you are forever in my heart.  Stephanie I often hear your laughter and passionate way of talking in my head.  And Ken the way you look at her and just smirk, while she is running a gazillion ideas by you all at once makes me chuckle…you two are perfect and I can’t thank you enough for including me in your special day!
