SEATTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

It was supposed to be a big celebration but like most weddings in 2020, this January 2021 wedding was adjusted as well. Rather than giving up their date and use of venue Erica & Josh decided to have immediate family perform and witness their nuptials.

Erica walked across the street when she arrived to meet Josh for their first look, none other than the appropriate back alley in Seattle. Representation of urban at its finest. As Josh turned he was smitten all over again. Both of them so excited to make this happen no matter what.

We did a few portraits inside and then they decided to make it official and say their ‘I Do’s’. Josh’s dad, Bryan, performed the ceremony and it was beautiful.

All of the parents had a little part in it and as Erica’s mom spoke about love and how to make the hard parts easier, and of course I couldn’t help but tear up. Erica’s dad threw in some light hearted banter and spoke on life and love as well.

Josh’s mom read an Irish blessing, as passed down from the grooms side. A Celtic trinity knot representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The strands of the knot representing the twining of their lives together. The linen handkerchief embroidered with Ericas initial resembles the tradition “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”.

Afterwards, we headed around Pioneer Square (blessed with a moment of dry weather) and some more of the city backdrop. Although Seattle has changed a bit through COVID, I must say I do love an urban background. Erica & Josh were just into each other. So kind and loving and happy to have made it their day.

They were excited to meet up with family at their house for pizza and champagne. I mean who doesn’t want a wedding dinner of pizza!! The wedding was intimate and absolutely lovely and I know their party next year will be the perfect compliment as an anniversary!
