She walks in a room and her laugh fills the air. You definitely know when Holly arrives. It was no different when I met her at our friend Libbys wedding last fall. She has a way of impacting you and bringing life to the party…or maybe she is the party!?
Soooo it was no wonder Neil noticed (or heard) her when they first met. It didn’t take them long to realize they were each others ‘person’. It was like they were the female and male version of each other and it was clear they were meant to be.
Not only are they visually appealing they are relationally special. It wasn’t about all of the details it was about their connection, their emotive love and their respect for each other. Best of all these two know how to laugh together. And even though Holly was losing her voice she managed to laugh her way through the whole day!
With each of their respective families looking on, you can tell they are loved and supported!! AND their love is celebrated!! Tradition doesn’t have to be traditional. With friends and family flying from all over the country to join them in Maui at the Royal Lahaina Resort you can tell these two impact people and are simply adored!
Their ceremony was unique in the way that it had Hawaiian elements, the Kahu (officiant) performed a ‘PU’ or ceremonial blowing of the conch shell, the bride and groom wore Leis and a Lei was given to each other mothers. They also were ‘allowed’ to kiss throughout the whole ceremony!! It was a fun way for them to express their excitement as the ceremony evolved. AND there was no way I could miss their ‘first’ kiss!
Holly & Neil, when you strip away the party and the day is done, you two and your connection is what matters. The way you are able to just ‘be’ together including how you are able to support each other in the small things (like self control with back seat driving) is admirable. You are so fun and I loved the change from the PNW evergreens to the Hawaiian palm trees and of course the sunset on the beach!
SO grateful to have met you and your family & friends!
